Terril Teran Mire

I love teaching online classes and private lessons from my home studio in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. It is so wonderful to connect with people all over the world! I really enjoy working with adults who are interested in movement practice for fitness, well- being and longevity in their sport, recreational activities and daily life.

All of my lessons are rooted in the Pilates principles of breath, concentration, control, precision, centering and flow and inspired by Vinyasa Yoga with a little bit of circus. During your lesson, I hope to facilitate the marriage of physical challenge of the body and focus of the mind that allows you to be present in the moment. I believe that mindful movement is they key to injury prevention and I would have greatly benefited from the Pilates method as a novice aerialist!

As I get older and experience different aches and pains, I have learned that movement is medicine. I feel so much better when I exercise! I am retraining my habits and balancing my body from years of repetitive stress. I will forever be a student of movement and am excited and inspired by all of the fitness classes and continuing education available online these days.

Background & training

AERIAL ARTS
From 2000-18 I performed as a professional aerialist across the U.S. and internationally for circus shows, special events, festivals, clubs, theme Parks, weddings and corporate events. I learned many different apparatus through specific on the job training, collaborating on performances with my peers/ mentors and a few lessons at the San Francisco School of Circus Arts as t
here were no circus schools in L.A. back in the day! I have performed on aerial hoop, static trapeze, rope, spanish web, Chinese pole, bungee trapeze, triple trapeze carousel, walking on 3' peg stilts and specialized in silks and hammock.
I officially started teaching aerial classes, for a couple years, when Cirque School L.A. opened in 2009 in Hollywood, CA. I moved to Washington state in 2014 and taught
aerial fitness at Riverside Health Club in Mt. Vernon and aerial silks and hammock at the Bellingham Circus Guild.
YOGA
In 2001 I fell in love with vinyasa flow Yoga, taught by the amazing Brenda Strong, at Yoga Villa in Los Angeles, CA. A few years later I attended a yoga teacher training retreat, at the White Lotus Foundation, in Santa Barbara, CA.
I became a certified Yoga teacher in 2016 and am currently registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT200. Since 2020 I am a qualified TRX® Yoga Instructor and a graduate of Yoga Body's, Yoga Teachers College, Yoga Trapeze® teacher training program.

PILATES

I have been teaching Pilates since 2016. I trained with Carolyn Watson at Core Kinetics Movement & Pilates in Bellingham, WA. through Balanced Body University. With over 500 hours of training, I graduated as a Fully Qualified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor, teaching mat, small props, reformer, trapeze table, chair and barrel. I have been teaching at Joy of Pilates & Fitness in Bellingham, WA, since 2017, in 2019 I became an Advanced Certified Pilates Suspension Method® Instructor and as of 2022 I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher.

SPECIALTY
I taught group fitness classes from 2016-18 a
t Riverside Health Club in Mt. Vernon, WA. where I lead a singing aqua arthritis class and was trained and Certified in Group Centergy® (Yoga & Pilates choreographed to music). Since 2020 I am a Qualified TRX Trainer and I have been working with American Bone Health as a Level 2 Peer Educator since 2021.
HISTORY
In 2009, I co- founded Bella Circo Productions with the amazing Sara Toney. We specialized in creating custom themed performances, from costumes to choreography, which led to our contemporary theatrical circus productions, Oceania and La Galleria. Below is a video of me performing on aerial silks, in the finale performance from La Galleria, performed at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in CA. This was one of the most challenging acts I have ever done and the one I am most proud of. Enjoy!
